about me

I grew up in San Juan, Trinidad.

If you had asked me what I wanted to be while I was still in high school, I would have said, “A graphic artist.” I held that belief until starting my studies at a commercial art school, where I knew I was not at all talented in the way successful artists should be. My personality was bright, though, and I could connect to and understand people and what they needed and what they wanted. I learned that I thrive between people with a vision and people who could create the solution. I am an interpreter and an activator.

Every day, organizations need to change (e.g., by introducing new technology, improving an existing process, implementing continuous improvement culture, or restructuring operations). However, the biggest challenge firms face is overcoming resistance and hastening adoption across the business to achieve the intended outcomes.

This is where I come in. I develop change strategies using Prosci principles, build solid multi-national teams of change managers, and create the required accompanying management training programs. What’s more, I demonstrate how companies accomplish measurably higher ROI faster when implementing solutions with a well-engaged workforce.

Finally, with the frameworks in place, I incorporate the change function into the delivery organization. I informally sponsor diversity, equity, inclusion, and culture-building programming and initiatives for the companies I work for. In addition, I love working with many people to promote business and career development, recruitment and retention, community engagement, networking, and relationship building.

I believe meaningful and sustained interactions boost higher levels of engagement YOY that raise employee excitement, foster healthy turnover rates, and mature the company culture to one where people thrive. Melding people engagement, process change, and solution deployment is my superpower. And, what I build persists.

Then, I started writing in July 2022. The dam burst. Use my narrative map to navigate the twists and turns of the streams flowing in so many directions. My stories burst out of me, spilling joy, I hope, here and there.

I live and work in New York City. I am a wife, mother times two, friend, and sister. People say that I am compassionate, funny, and engaging. Unfortunately, I don’t volunteer as much as I want to. If I did, it would be with an organization concerned with juvenile justice. I have a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia State University.

I am not done. I am still learning and becoming who I would be.
